HOTBAR.COM FINDS ITS MAMMA

Hotbar's 10.5 Million Users Now Have Access to "the Mother of All Search Engines"

February 8, 2001 (New York, NY) - On the heels of closing a total of $11 million in their second round of financing from Deutsche Banc, Hotbar.com, Inc. (www.hotbar.com) announced today a new partnership with Mamma.com (www.mamma.com), the Mother of all Search Engines. Hotbar, the Dashboard to the Internet that integrates content, commerce and creativity all in one free Web-portable toolbar, will add Mamma to the Hotbar Toolbar Search Box as the search engine functionality. Hotbar's audience of about 20,000 unique downloads per day will have access to Mamma.com, the largest independently owned Meta-Search engine on the Internet.
Says Doron Wesly, Hotbar.com's Director of Marketing and Advertising, "Partnering with Mamma was the next logical step for us in terms of providing the best possible service for our users. Plus, an alliance between our companies will build on the strong affinities our users have for the Hotbar and Mamma brands, as well as a likeminded sensibility shared by our user-bases. "
The alliance is a boon to both companies. In the terms of the deal, Mamma will be instantly integrated into all new Hotbar downloads, which average 30,000 unique downloads per day. Hotbar stands to gain by providing its users with one of the largest meta-search engines on the Web. Furthermore, Mamma acts as a filter, harvesting searches from other engines to ultimately bring the Hotbar user the most in-depth and accurate search on the Web. Mamma.com is the latest partner of a growing list of popular and respected brands that have partnered with Hotbar, including CNNSI and CNET.
"We are pleased to enter into this agreement with Hotbar, as it will enable us to deliver high-quality search results to Hotbar users which will therefore compliment their experience," says Herman Tumurcuoglu, President & CEO of Mamma.com. "
